Despite a four-goal fourth quarter, a late Nebraska rally fell short as the Cornhuskers were defeated by Miami University (OH), 8-5, in the first round of the 2015 Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Tournament.

Nebraska struggled to find the back of the net in the first half only managing to score once on a man-up goal from sophomore attackman Zach Brown (Omaha, Neb. / Millard West HS) and would trail 5-1 at halftime.

Led by three goals from junior attackman Brett Willms (Houston, Texas / Kingwood HS) as well as a goal and two assists from junior attackmen Ketcher Taylor (Carlsbad, Calif. / La Costa Canyon HS), the Cornhuskers would outscore the RedHawks 4-3 in the final two quarters but would eventually fall short as time expired.

Senior defenseman Santo Marasco (Omaha, Neb. / Creighton Prep HS) scooped up six loose balls bringing his 2015 season ground ball total to 114. Stopping 10 of 18 shots was senior goaltender Max Jordan (Aurora, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley HS).

With the loss, Nebraska ends its 2015 season with a 9-4 overall record in a year that saw the first GRLC Playoffs appearance for the Cornhuskers.
